Much like other previous rides at Universal Studios Hollywood's Studio Tour, this ride is an expanded version of the same segment on the tour. It would later open in 2018, replacing Disaster! and Beetlejuice's Rock and Roll Graveyard Revue. Although The Simpsons Ride later opened in its place at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in 2008, a ride based on The Fast and the Furious was being considered for the space at the time, but the plans were dropped in favor of The Simpsons Ride.Īpproximately ten years later, and shortly after the ride opened at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2015, Fast and Furious: Supercharged was announced for Universal Studios Florida. Plans for a ride based on The Fast and the Furious at Universal Orlando Resort go all the way back to 2007, when Back to the Future: The Ride was closed. The ride features guests joining Dominic Toretto and his crew on buses to protect an important witness from being captured by the FBI and Owen Shaw. The ride opened on April 23, 2018, replacing Disaster!.

It is based on the long-running The Fast and the Furious film franchise by Universal (specifically the 2013 entry Fast and Furious 6), and features many actors from the films reprising their roles as their respective characters. It is a port of a ride of the same name at Universal Studios Hollywood, where it is part of that park's Studio Tour.

Brian O'Conner (cameo) Fast and Furious: Supercharged is a motion simulator ride located in the San Francisco section of Universal Studios Florida.
